Hi sweet friend,
It’s easy to treat the fruit of the Spirit like a checklist: “Be more loving, more patient, more joyful…” But here’s the truth—this kind of fruit doesn’t grow by effort alone. It grows from abiding in Jesus. As John 15:4–5 reminds us, “No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.”
This week, we’re slowing down to reflect on what it really means to remain in Him—and how doing so leads to real growth in love, joy, peace, and more.
📖 Bible Study Tip of the Week:
Circle the Source. When reading Galatians 5:22–23, write out the fruit of the Spirit in a journal—but next to each one, write a moment when Jesus showed that very trait. This simple reflection keeps us rooted in His example and reminds us that we’re being shaped into His likeness, not just into “better people.”
🌈 Kids' Corner:
This Week’s Theme: The Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23)
Want to help your kids understand what it means to grow spiritual fruit? Start with this fun and hands-on activity that makes learning memorable and meaningful!
Fruit Tree Craft 🍊
Create a tree with your kids using construction paper or printable templates. Each branch represents a fruit of the Spirit. Every time your child shows one of these, they get to add a fruit! Remind them: we grow these traits when we walk closely with Jesus—just like a branch gets its life from the vine!
💬 Talk About It:
- Why do we call these things “fruit”?
- Can we grow them all by ourselves?
- How does staying close to Jesus help these fruits grow in us?
🙏 Family Faith Focus:
Read John 15:1–5 together. Ask:
- What does it mean to stay connected to Jesus?
- How do we “abide” in Him as a family?
- Can we grow good fruit on our own?
Pray together, asking the Lord to help each family member stay close to Jesus this week.
